Allow us to set the Provider and have it carry over to all visits
Allow us to set one provider as a patient's main provider, only using the drop down list if they are consulting with another doctor in the same practice. This will reduce the time it takes when making appointments, especially when there are several doctors in the same practice. Typically a patient see's the same doctor upon return vistis, having their own set provider be a big help.

Allow onboarding without an appointment
Please allow onboarding (filling out intake forms, signing consent) without an appointment. We screen patients before booking appointments. At first we were making fake appointments but it got too confusing. Now we switched to Touchhealth for intake forms which works great but we would really prefer to have everything integrated with Drchrono. Please allow this.

Enhance billing or accounting information made available to patients’ Onpatient PHR
In addition to statements being sent automatically to Onpatient, I’d like to see options for all billing information to be sent automatically including; billing status, statements (regardless of there being a balance due), patient payment history, HCFAs and super bills.

Send email notification when patient completes onboarding
It's annoying that we have no way of knowing if a patient completes their onboarding (filling out forms, signing, etc.). Please add a way to notify through email that onboarding is completed. In the meantime I'll unfortunately have to use Touchhealth for intake forms which is a much better system. Unfortunate because I'm paying a lot for DrChrono and in the last year there's been no improvement at all with the Onpatient onboarding process

Assigning values to the custom template fields that can be linked to macros
It would be great if there was a way to assign a unique identifier or code to a specific Field on one of our customized onPatient templates so that we can place the value of that field into a Macro like you currently do with Patient’s Age, Office, Exam Room, Date of Service, etc. The doctor looks at those values (the totals in all of our questionnaires) in order to make a medical determination for his treatment plan. Our Medical Assistants take these scores and input them into the Clinical Notes for each patient’s initial doctor visit. Rather than flip…

Allow option to disable onboarding forms for follow ups
I love how patients can fill out onboarding info through Onpatient and also create their own appointments, but my patients have been pretty confused because when they create follow up appointments, they are asked to fill out onboarding forms every time. I have my patients fill out onboarding with the initial appointment, and they then create follow up appointments themselves through Onpatient. I do not need them to fill out onboarding information every single time they have a follow up appointment. It's simply unnecessary. Nowhere does it say that the Onboarding forms are optional, so patients are confused about why…

Option to add onpatient messages to the patient's chart under the "Patient History".
When a patient messages the practice through onpatient, the practice should have the option to "add" the message to the patient's chart so that it is included under the "Patient History" section of the chart in the ipad/iphone version. (Currently phone logs are included in the "Patient History" section and this is great).
This is needed because currently 1) the physician cannot see any onpatient messages in the mobile apps and 2) Embedding them in the Patient History section would allow them to be seen IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER (which is the most clinically relevant and useful).
Because practices may not…

Labs should be able to be sent directly to onpatient with a comment from staff.
Labs should be able to be sent directly to onpatient with a comment from staff. Communication of labs, x-rays and other results need a document trail and evidence of effort by physician offices to communicate with the patient. It would be great to allow a quick button to add a comment to a lab result, then push it to Onpatient, email or text message the patient. Other EHR have this ability. Thank you.

Allow practices to add OnPatient Message guidelines/rules for Physician Communication
We are having many patients bring up new symptoms or concerns via OnPatient.
We would like a way to provide some guidelines to the patients on the use of OnPatient messaging. For example:
"Secure OnPatient communication with your physician is designed to clarify treatment plans or prescriptions already discussed during an office visit.
New symptoms (unrelated to an existing visit), diagnosis, prescriptions or any health question that have not previously been addressed with your Doctor during an office visit require a schedule office visit."

Change 'check in' button to something else to make it more intuitive for patients
I have had many patients confused about Onpatient. They call and say that they cannot find the intake forms. We have to tell them to click the 'check in' button. Could you please change what this button says? It should not say 'check in'. It should say 'begin onboarding' or something like that. Check in refers to checking in prior to the appointment, so it is not intuitive for the patient to click 'check in' when this is weeks before the appointment. Please change this so that it is more intuitive for patients to begin the onboarding process through Onpatient.

Reminders should be automatically pulled from the last visit when patients are using onpatient to schedule their appointments.
This is a real problem. I should not have to go into the schedule and manually add reminders when a patient has used onpatient to schedule online. It is not an idea for an improvement. This should have been included in the first build. It is NOT optional and really has a negative impact on my workflow.

It cannot let patients reschedule or cancel appointments within a 24 hour window.
I want a 24 hour cut off so patients can't change or cancel unless it's 24 hour notice or they have to call the office. This is crucial. It costs us money when appointments are not filled due to last minute changes

Documents need titles
When I push through well titled documents to onpatient what the patient received is a generically entitled (with my name) document - so when the chart has 30 documents - the patient sees 30 documents entitled the same with no option to rename. If I reference a document they have no idea which one unless they open each document on their end to find.
Solution: allow the document title in onpatient match the document's title in drchrono.

Send SOAP Plan or any selected section directly to onpatient
Ability to send selected sections of the complete note to the patient's onpatient portal without having to print the section as a pdf and save it to the computer then upload it to patient's chart, then click the button to upload to onpatient.
For example: Select "Print Sections" from the complete note. Then select SOAP Plan from the template list. Then click "Send to inpatient" button.
So much more simple and takes mush less time than having to download the plan, then upload the plan back to chrono, then send to onpatient.

More specific online booking
It would be great if each room can be specific to a service being booked online and to actually mirror the availability on the schedule. We have 2 chiropractors and 7 massage therapists. It would be great if a client can request and book a certain chiropractor or massage therapist. Currently it looks like you can book a "type of appointment" on the widget but not all services are done in all the rooms. It doesn't take account what is actually available.

onpatient needs to use the default appointment settings when patients use the online schedule
This should have been included in the first build of onpatient. It's really bad that no one thought of this. It needs to be fixed ASAP. This is not an idea for an improvement, it should never have been left out.

Select appointment length when scheduling online
I see some patients for med management only, and others for therapy as well. Would be great if patients could select a 30 min appt vs a 60 min appt.

Hide the "Book appointment" button if no doctors allow it
If a patient has no doctors which allow for online scheduling, onpatient should hide the "Book appointment" button on the appointments screen.
Alternately they could grey it out and provide a tooltip with something along the lines of: "none of your doctors have enabled online scheduling".
Alternately, the book appointment screen (https://onpatient.com/appointments/new/) could show phone numbers for doctors who have disabled online scheduling.

onpatient Introduction or Help System
We have a majority senior demographic where less than 40% of our patients have email addresses. To them onpatient is the first patient portal and we have to explain what it is for and how to use it. It would help us if onpatient had an introduction or help system.
Maybe a popup notification and links to youtube videos (like GMail)? Or bright tooltips like Quickbooks that explain each feature on the screen.
