  1. Have an auto reply option for patient messages in OnPatient

    There should be an option to set an auto reply message in case a provider is on vacation or something so that when a patient sends a message via OnPatient they will get a notice right away notifying them so that they don;t get angry or upset if the providers don't respond.

    • Make Recurring Event searchable for patients with nicknames

      Right now if you want to use the patient search option for the Recurring Event feature it does not allow you to search for a patient if they have a nickname as part of their account, it will only let you search for patients that have first and last name only. For example I wanted to find the recurring event for Lucas (Luke) Smith either nothing comes up or it tells me no patients found but when I manually search for that event it's there.

      • Add a default option to the appointment status

        It would be helpful to have the ability to choose a "default" status that shows anytime an appointment is created initially. Here is my train of thought regarding this. The status defaults to "unconfirmed", once a patient confirms the appointment it can be switched to "confirmed", and etc

        • audit logs should be accurate

          The audit log tracking activity for outgoing messages, faxes, and referrals do not actually log which user sent the thing. All faxes, messages or referrals sent by admin staff shows up in the log as being sent by the PROVIDER that admin person is assigned to (arbitrarily in our case, as admin people are shared by multiple providers).

          If admin sends a message to patient, stating "x, y, z", I should be able to look and see specifically WHICH admin person did that. (I've complained that messages from admin shouldn't look to the patient as if the provider them self…

            We should be able to go to one screen to seen the trail of communication with patient. Thus, listing onpatient message, phone notes, and encounter notes in the same place in backwards chronological order so that you don't have to go clicking many extra inconvenient places to know if you did anything by phone since the last appt.

              Have an appointment profile that doesn't show up in live claims feed or...
              Have have a billing profile that doesn't show up in live claims feed.

              Our practice has a lot of follow up or check up appointments that are no charges to the patient (ie, can not charge the insurance either).
              And it is a total waste of time to manually sort through all the "claims" in live feed and "settle" the zero charge appointments.

                  Can we have a Start Date field for a patient's current insurance coverage? Not just a start date for the old, expired policies.

                    I would like if each time a CMS 1500 form is printed for insurance claims such as auto payers and work comp that a date is added to the log so that we can appeal denial for timely filing. I have this option when I send electronically. This is very important for our type of office since we see quite a bit of work comp and auto patients.                     • I archive duplicate faxes but jot a note in the 'notes' section. They don't stick--they should!

                      i sometimes get duplicate faxes or preliminary reports. I put a quick note in the 'notes box' and archive it. Now when I check the archived faxes the notes are gone and I have to look again at what it was.

                        The only communication logs that are editable, are only those attached to a specific appointment. We do not attache our communication logs to appointments.
                        For us, it is where we put a note on what we spoke to a patient about or a question that the doctor answered for the patient, but we want to keep track of it or even just general updates to go back to.                           Patient appointment "medications & allergies" tab needs a medication reconciliation tab so when there are no changes to medications audit log can show medications were reviewed and unchanged. Right now if there is nothing logged in audit log, one might assume medications were not actually reviewed.

                          • be able to send referrals for inactive patients.

                            Just because a patient is inactive doesn't mean that we don't still send records for them (if they have moved or switched providers). It would be great if they were still searchable in the Send Referral section. It really adds to the workflow to make them active again, send the records, and then go back and make them inactive again.

                            • ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS code attachment capability in Form Builder

                              It would be amazing if there was a way to attach codes to switches within form builder. For example: If the provider turns on the switch to add 'broken hand' then it would attach the corresponding ICD-10 or CPT code to that appt/chart.

                              This is already possible with billing profiles, but not ideal. If I want to add a bunch of codes for each body part, it bogs down the entire use of Billing Profiles.

                              • Custom Demographics Improvement

                                Custom Demographics are extremely lacking. They are limited in what can be entered, no smart fields and yet it's the only data that easily exported as a list.

                                For example. Having 'how did you find us" or a similar question is not something we need in the clinical notes area we need it for marketing or some other reporting need.

                                You also cannot have those fields be mandatory etc. I don't know why you can't make the custom demographics field the same as the form builder. It works under the same principle in theory.

                                  • Save message center document "notes" to patient charts

                                    When a "note" is added to a document in the message center, it should be saved and able to be viewed from the patient chart. At this time, all that I can see in the patient chart is the document, no anything that was commented about the document. We have numerous "messages" that come into the message center on a daily basis. Trying to sort back through the message center to find the document and note that was attached to it is extremely tedious. The lab section already saves comments that I make. This same function needs to be enabled…

                                      The iPhone app does not have any messaging functionality. iPad app has a messaging center where I can read patient messages and respond, but there is no way to write a new message for a patient, nor is there anyway to read all messages from/to a patient like the website. Please improve the mobile apps so that they have full messaging functionality. You should be able to go to a patient's chart and see all messages and write a new message.

                                          Please make the scheduler (calendar view) easier to read and see visually, or allow more customization to eliminate or add what information shows. The calendar is just to busy with information, for example....it shows the time above each appt. (I understand this being helpful, but I'm sure some find it unnecessary and just adds to screen clutter); calendar FONT could be better so easier to read, the FONT color should be manipulatable (for example the time shown is in white against a white screen and is hard to distinguish for the eye (that or improve the font).
